Original Tansu chest of drawers made from Keyaki wood (Zelkova). Width 118 cm, height 88 cm, depth 44 cm. Japanese antique from Sendai Prefecture, crafted during the Meiji period (1868–1912). In good condition with an age-related patina and authentic character. A total of six drawers with metal handles. One compartment with a door. (One key included.) The classic Japanese wooden chest of drawers, known as a tansu, is one of Japan’s most famous pieces of furniture. This original tansu comes from Sendai Prefecture and was crafted during the Meiji period (1868–1912) from high-quality keyaki wood (Japanese zelkova).
