Kyoto Washi Light – a handcrafted floor lamp of wood, bamboo and washi paper, inspired by the traditional Japanese wagasa umbrella. Detachable fitting, foldable shade, compact to store. Washi paper diffuses the light softly and evenly. Can be placed on the floor, on a piece of furniture or on a tatami. Awarded the Good Design Award. Dimensions: ø 31 × H 46 cm, cable: 193.5 cm. The Kyoto Washi Floor Lamp is crafted entirely by hand — bamboo, wood and washi paper, made by artisans from Kyoto whose technique is rooted in the centuries-old tradition of wagasa umbrella making. The washi paper bathes every room in a soft, even glow. The shade can be detached from the fitting, folded flat and stored away neatly. No plastic, no metal. Only materials that breathe.
