Shoji Japan | Consultation and ordering in our shop
Shoji from Japan: traditional room dividers made of wooden frames and washi paper, filtering light rather than blocking it. The classic Kumiko lattice reimagined: a play of light and line that redraws itself with every time of day. A range of patterns to choose from, each with its own character, bringing warmth and poetry to the room. Each shoji is made to measure, crafted from wood sourced in Japan's forests, hand-selected and worked. We are happy to advise you in our shop.
The Japanese shoji filters light without closing off a room: a panel of wooden frame and washi paper that turns daylight into a warm, diffuse drawing. Our shoji come from a manufactory in Japan's forest-rich regions. Grain, colour and density determine the choice of each piece, hand-selected and worked. The Kumiko lattice becomes a design tool: a play of light and line that redraws itself with every time of day. Various patterns are available, each lending the room a unique character. Each piece is made to measure. In-person advice is therefore essential. Visit us in the shop, where we show you the patterns and advise you on size and finish.
