*The Rex Coffee Table is a product of the design studio Rex Kralj, founded in 2012 as a tribute to Niko Kralj (1920 - 2013), one of the most important Slovenian designers of the post-war period. His innovative inventions made him a pioneer of contemporary furniture design, who enjoyed close friendships with the likes of Charles and Ray Eames, Mies van der Rohe, Tobia Scarpa and Frank Lloyd Wright. Kralj's most famous design, the REX folding chair of 1956, is now part of the design collection of the Museum of Modern Art in New York (MoMA). With this chair Nico Kralj succeeded in combining functionality and aesthetics.
The Rex Kralj Studio has revived the REX collection. It also designs its own furniture based on Niko Kralj's philosophy. The SQ collection, the REX chair and the REX Coffee Table are available at Sato.
