Current Exhibition at Sato

From 18 September 2025 until 21 March 2026, Sato is dedicating a comprehensive solo exhibition to the Japanese artist Sanae Sakamoto. The octogenarian continues to work on new pieces day after day. The result is art that moves, provokes thought and brings joy in equal measure. Each brushstroke reveals its own narrative.

The exhibition features 70 recent works ranging from classical calligraphy and contemporary ink painting to traditional scroll paintings. The pieces are distributed across several exhibition rooms and are all available for purchase—a rare opportunity to acquire original Japanese art.

The accompanying programme has already included the vernissage on 18 September 2025 and a matinée on 21 September 2025. Those who missed these events will have another chance to meet the artist in person during the Advent season. Sanae Sakamoto will give a performance on Thursday, 4 December 2025, from 5:00 pm onwards, followed by a talk about her artworks. Registration is not required.
